Weight Watchers Point System – This Month Features Food Expert Isabel And A Very Effective Way To Use Your Daily Points To Lose The Most FAT
As you know, we are big proponents of the Weight Watchers Point System plan. We think it’s one of the best and easiest ways to adhere to an eating plan that prevents overeating and indulgence of too many calories. However, we are always the first to admit that sometimes, our points are not always used in the manner to which they are intended. Because at the end of the day, not only do we want to be thin, we really want to be as healthy as possible with out choices.
My dearest Aunt "S" (she’ll shoot me if I use her name) has been using the Weight Watchers Point System for years. Her biggest problem is that she is a fabulous cook, a real gourmet in the kitchen. Of course that causes problems for the rest of our self control. What I mean is that she is an old school lard and drippings type cook. When she prepares her recipes, her point calculation sheet looks like aeronautical engineering calculations. Of course, this leads to some pretty serious frustration and usually, once you eat one spoonful of her heavenly concoctions, there goes your points for half the day.
I’m sure like all of us, it has been quite a learning curve to filter out what foods are really healthy and will help us slim down and stay that way as well. I mean for the longest time, we thought whole wheat bread and bran muffins were the pillars of health food. Come to find out, not so much. It’s really a shame to find out how misleading some of this so called "health" food really is for us. So the real problem for us when we were calculating points was that some of the food that we chose, even though we thought it was healthy and within our allotted point calculation was really causing us to keep or gain weight.
So that brings us to our featured Food Plan we chose this month. It’s from a lovely young woman named Isabel De Los Rios, a certified nutritionist and exercise specialist. I’m proud to say she’s a girl next door to us as a graduate from Rutgers Univ. in New Jersey (our team is based in NY), where she also owns a fitness and nutrition center called New Body. These are the highlights but you can read more about her background by clicking on the link below.

Why we really like Isabel’s food plan in conjunction with the Weight Watchers Point System is that it really breaks down a combination of foods that will naturally increase your metabolism, which as you know is our holy grail of losing our extra chub. She also dispels a bunch of myths about what we think is healthy and why what we think is healthy is the worst thing for us to be eating to lose weight. In fact, Isabel shockingly discourages us from eating what I personally believed was perfectly healthy. Look at #3 while reading her article on 3 interesting tips to lose a couple of pounds. Article is HERE. Normally, I wouldn’t believe it for a moment but she’s a nutritionist and we’re not, so wow.
Anyway, we felt this would be a great feature story as Isabel as an expert has put together and spelled out the TYPES of foods we should be eating. As well as how to mix them for optimum weight loss. It’s such a compliment with our point system since we can now have a major advantage while using our points for the best results. We also like that she’s pretty funny and down to earth. If you happen to see the main site page, it’s a video with her and her friend Jeff that helped create this program so everyone could benefit from her expertise. It’s quite entertaining, we’ll put the link for you below if you want to see it, it’s a bit long I must warn you though but pretty in depth as to what she and her food plan is all about.
We also like that she gives out a lot of information without hyping you into buying anything before she tells you anything. We tend to get uncomfortable with high sales pressure programs. So to wrap up our feature, we’ve listed 3 areas on her site we think you could get a lot of information from to incorporate into your Weight Watchers Point System. Until next time! Be lean and be mean:)
You can say we are a group that have tried all the diet and weight loss tricks in the world. We've had some success with the Weight Watchers Point System so we felt we would dedicate an unofficial website for support of others that are just like us.
